HOW TO GET HERE

Harrietville is located in North East Victoria, approximately 3.5 hours from Melbourne via the Hume Freeway and Great Alpine Road. The town sits at the base of the Alpine National Park, just below Mt Hotham.

Driving from Melbourne

  • Take the Hume Freeway (M31) north to Wangaratta

    Approx. 2 hrs 30 min

  • Follow the Ovens Highway (B500) through Bright

    Approx. 45 min from Wangaratta

  • Continue on the Great Alpine Road to Harrietville

    15 min south of Bright

  • Total drive time approximately 4 hours

    Allow extra time on race morning

Mt Feathertop & The Alpine National Park
Victoria's second highest peak rises directly above Harrietville. The Razorback Trail to the summit is one of the great alpine walks in Australia — best saved for the day after the race.

Just 30 minutes from Bright, Mt Buffalo National Park is a stunning alpine plateau of granite tors, wildflower meadows and cascading waterfalls. In October the park is alive with spring colour — an unmissable side trip for walkers, and nature lovers.

You'll run past it on race day — why not stop in the day before or after? The Harrietville Trout Farm is a local icon, perfect for families and a wonderful way to connect with the community.
Bright — the jewel of the High Country
Just 24km up the road, Bright is famous for its autumn colour, boutique shops, breweries, wineries and restaurants. October is spring — the valley is at its greenest and most vibrant.
Stony Creek Fish Farm
You'll run past it on race day — why not stop in the day before or after? The Harrietville Trout Farm is a local icon, perfect for families and a wonderful way to connect with the community.

Bus Information

Eagle Range Transport will shuttle runners to the start line of 21.1km, 10.5km and 5km events. 
 
21.1km: Multiple buses will begin departing Pioneer park at 6:45am
 
10.5km: Multiple buses will begin departing Pioneer Park at 7:25am
 
5km: Multiple buses will begin departing Pioneer Park at 8:50am
 
2km: No bus
